Villa Nerine
Abidjan is a city in constant transformation, continuously rebuilding itself over the decades. In long-established neighborhoods, where land is becoming increasingly scarce and valuable, a process of urban renewal is underway: old buildings are gradually being acquired and demolished to make way for more modern constructions, better suited to today’s lifestyles and the aspirations of a new generation of city dwellers.
The Nerine project is fully aligned with this dynamic of change. Built on a 300 m² plot in the Oscar 2 residential enclave of Riviera 3, a sought-after area in Cocody, the project represents a bold architectural choice: replacing an old villa with a contemporary residence, distinguished by its clean lines and understated elegance, and standing in stylistic contrast with its surroundings.
Designed as a space that is both functional and refined, Villa Nerine unfolds over two levels. The ground floor houses the main living areas — living room, dining room, and kitchen — as well as an independent guest bedroom, conceived to provide comfort and privacy for visitors. The upper floor is entirely dedicated to the family core, with three bedrooms grouped within a private, serene space.
This project illustrates how contemporary architecture can reinterpret the constraints of existing urban fabric to offer innovative responses that align with evolving ways of living.
