Tour Sama

The Sama Tower project has provided Totem Architects with the rare opportunity to work on one of the first towers in the Plateau, Abidjan’s business district: an old 14-storey office building dating back to the late 1960s. The building enjoys a highly privileged location overlooking Lagunaire Boulevard, one of the busiest roads in Abidjan’s urban agglomeration. It offers a breathtaking view of the Ebrié Lagoon, the southern districts of the city, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The structure has been redesigned while retaining its original framework in order to comply with the most recent construction standards, including provisions for people with limited mobility. The facade of Totem Architects’ project is entirely transparent, allowing users to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view. However, solar transmittance inside the building is mitigated by the use of solar control glazing.
