Hira Islamic Centre
The Hira Project is a cultural centre dedicated to the Quran. Its architectural design is inspired by two symbols: the cave and the circle; the cave because it is the starting point of the revelation of the divine message (Hira cave), and the circle because it is the preferred configuration of gatherings dedicated to the transmission of the Quranic message throughout the centuries. The centre is buried beneath a layer of vegetated earth, providing thermal inertia that contributes to its environmental efficiency.
It is a true religious and cultural complex, consisting of a school, an amphitheatre, a library, a multimedia room, meeting rooms, exhibition halls, a gymnasium, residences, and a mosque, with the minaret as the focal element of the architectural composition. At the centre of the circle, this minaret is surrounded by a fountain that activates at each prayer hour before the call of the muezzin.
